Common questions

Is VMESH an ERC-20 token?

No. VMESH is the native asset of an independent SHA-256d Proof-of-Work blockchain.

What prefix does a mainnet address use?

Native mainnet Bech32 addresses start with vm1. Testnet addresses use tvm1.

How often does VargaMesh produce blocks?

Its target is 120 seconds. Actual block times can differ.

Can I mine with a Bitaxe?

Compatible SHA-256d Bitaxe devices can use a suitable SOLO or PPLNS Stratum endpoint. Earnings are not guaranteed.

What is the difference between SOLO and PPLNS?

SOLO rewards depend on blocks found by your own worker; PPLNS distributes pool rewards based on eligible shares in a defined window.

Do I need an exchange account to use a wallet?

No. Self-custody wallets work without an exchange account.

Should I share recovery words with support?

Never share recovery words, seeds or private keys.

Is MeshProof proof-of-stake?

No. MeshProof is a separate node contribution tool and does not alter PoW consensus.

Where can I verify technical claims?

Compare the official website, Core releases and explorer; inspect source code for consensus-critical behavior.
